TMS320F28388D: CCS IDE breakpoint issue.

Hi,

I am using TMS320F28388D controller , i am facing issue in CCS IDE when we assign a breakpoint even after removing the break point the controller halts at the same location even after i restart the CCS and flash the program again , i tried different combinations still not successful in removing the breakpoint in CCS IDE.

I tried CCS v9.2.0, CCS v10.1.0, CCS v10.2 observed the same behavior.

Can you please let me know which version of CCS does not have this breakpoint issue.

Is there any particular instruction in that location of your application? Is it an ESTOP instruction? Is it a loop code?

No ESTOP in the application.

when we assign a breakpoint eve though we clear the breakpoint it never gets cleared. always hits at the same location.

Nagesh,

Which core is the breakpoint being set on? There are 2 28x cores and a Cortex M4.

What address is it being set at? RAM or Flash? The reason I ask is that on F28388D there is RAM that is shared between the 2 28x cores.

The breakpoint is being set on CPU1 while testing on Flash. i am not using the shard RAM.

Nagesh,

I have not had any luck reproducing this. I am using the F28388D controlCARD which has an integrated XDS100. What type of debug probe are you using? I can try to set that up.

Nagesh,

Please open the Scripting Console and run the following command:

eval("DEBUG_DumpBreakpoints()")

This should output a bunch of text in the Console regarding all breakpoints set by the debugger.
