TMS320F280049: Is HRPWM still kept when I route like PWM1A to another GPIO with X-BAR?

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Hi,

if I set PWM1A to be HRPWM, and then route it to another GPIO pin, will the HR portion be kept or discarded?

Besides, what's the delay time in such a situation? What's the delay time for input X-BAR, EPWM X-BAR and output X-BAR?

    Yes, HRPWM will be retained.

It doesn't effect the HRPWM resolution. There will be some offset delay based on the pin location chosen due to signal propagation. But the period and duty will still be with the same resolution, including HR.

What's the delay time for input X-BAR, EPWM X-BAR and output X-BAR?

These delays could be multiple system clock cycles (1 or more) and vary depending again on the source and destination.

  • Hi,

    thank you.

These delays could be multiple system clock cycles (1 or more) and vary depending again on the source and destination.

So we don't have a guide to show exactly what's the delay time, right? Then do we have a total maximum delay to be ensured when routing signal from one pin(or any internal signal that is not shown on a pin) to another pin that could be observed?

  • Hi,

No. This value is not specified in the data sheet. But, as I said above, the HRPWM resolution will not be lost. There is only additional path delay due to XBars.
