Hi,

I want to try TMS320F2837D DFU using serial flash programmer.exe in Launchxl-f28379D evm kit. I have referred documents sprabv4d- Serial flash programming of C2000.

Also, i have checked device TRM and its mentioned that only SCI-A (GPIO84,85) or GPIO28/29 can be used as SCI port for serial communication with flash programmer.

But, this evm kit is not having above pins on I/O expander connectors J1,J3,J2,J4,J5,J7,J6,J8.

But, instead GPIO42/43 is used in FT2232 chip of evm for SCI-A communication.

Can you please know if we can use GPIO42/43 for serial flash programmer communication. if reply is No, then how can we use GPIO84/85 in this evm kit ?

Also, for Serial flash programming communication with evm, what should be status of TRST (S1-3) switch?

    Ajay,

    The SCI Flash Kernel requires the Boot pins on the board to be set to SCI Boot Mode, and only pins 84/85 and pins 28/29 are listed in the Boot ROM files as SCI-A pins, so pins 42/43 cannot be used. For the LAUNCHXL-F28379D however, SCI Boot Mode cannot be used so this example cannot be run on this board. Please refer to Section 2.1 of the Launchpad user guide. 

    This example can run on the F2837xD controlCard with pins 28/29 being used for SCI communication from host to target.
