TMS320F2806x packaging information confusion

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28069

Hello All

We are working with the device TMS320F28069 and we are in process of getting out layout. Although the device selection states that it is an LQFP package, the data sheet of this device shows a PQFP package instead.

Is there some confusion here or will there be additional information available for LQFP package for this device.

With Regards

  • Pravin,

The datasheet does state that the packages are LQFP. It is just the mechanical drawing portion of the datasheet that uses the term Plastic Quad FlatPack (PQFP). In the end this is just a label as the dimensions of the package are given in the datasheet, including the height. In this case the term "plastic" does not denote a lack of a low profile, but the material the package is made of. Technically, the PZP and PFP packages are supposed to be labeled Thermally Enhanced Thin Quad FlatPack (HTQFP), not LQFP. But again, this is just a label as the dimensions and tolerances are specifically given.

    Regards,
