TMS320C28346: Flash memory for higher performance?

Hi,

I was looking at TMS320C28346 - 512KB RAM, but no Flash. What can you propose to me as  64KB (512Kb) of SPI external flash memory?

    Hi Antonio,

    Unfortunately we don't have any external flash recommendations for TMS320C28346.  Has the customer looked into any of our higher performance devices with embedded flash such as TMS320F28379D or TMS320F28388D?

    Hi Joe, ok thanks, I already saw 37x and 38x series but they do not have enough SRAM for customer application.

    The only DSP that has at least 512KB of RAM seems to be the 28345 or 28346 and therefore customer has to opt for an external flash solution to connect to it.

    Please remind customer is reading this E2E. Thank you,

    Thanks Antonio.  One of our SMEs was able to point me to an old app note (SPRAAW0) about using Spectrum Digital's SDFlash on C2000 devices.  While the tool is no longer supported, the app-note did mention the following Atmel memories for C2834x: AT49BV802D, AT25HP256/512, AT25256A, and AT25F1024A.  It also appears we put AT24C512B on the C2834x control card.  These may be a little bigger than what they are looking for, but hopefully there is something smaller in the family that will work.
