CLA and DCSM

Hi there,

I have been trying the CLA with Example_2805xClaAdc on a F28055 and have found that CLA isn't running at all; it will not stop at the break point I set at CLA ISR, nor the variable, ConversionCount, will increase and then reset. However, when I try the same sample code on a brand new board, everything works fine. These two boards are identical, but I previously enabled DCSM on the old board. Does DCSM has anything to do with CLA not running? If so, how can I get CLA to work on the device whose DCSM was once enabled?

Yes, on this device CLA is part of Zone1 security. If DCSM is enable then CLA registers can only be accessed by code running from memories which are allocated to Zone1 and also CLA code can not access memories which are allocated to Zone2. You need to unlock the device using the password to be able to debug the CLA code.

What are your security settings for RAM (value programmed into GRABRAM) ?

Hi Vivek,

My GRABRAM settings for both Z1 and Z2 are 0xFF.
When I loaded the sample code, shouldn't CCS have erased the flash and all settings? Why is the device still in the locked state?

Hi Kevin,

On this device the security settings are in USER OTP and not in main flash bank hence it does not get erased. Instead you need to change the link pointer to make the device unsecure. Please refer the DCSM section of user guide for more detail on this.
