TMS320F28035: TMS320F28035 and TMS320F2808 Processing power

Part Number: TMS320F28035

Hi Sir:

We use the TMS320F2808 for motordrive is OK,and for cost down. we want to use TMS320F28035 P2P 2808.no other changes.but We find that Deal with trigonometric function There is a huge difference. We used Look-up table method.but test that. Deal with trigonometric onec the 2808 about 0.8us  but the 28035 about 8us. Why?  Is there a way to solve it?.  And We do not want to use CLA.

  • Lei,

how are you profiling the code,

If you are using F2808 100MHz you will see some degradation when you move to F28035 because it is 60MHz,

But not a 10x performance degradation as you are reporting above.

make sure you have compiler settings comparable between the two processors

    Regards
    Manish
