TMS320F280049: Strategy to obtain the phsae difference of two periodic square wave using ECAP on F280049

Hi expert,

As shown in the picture, there are two periodic suqare wave on EPWM1A and EPWM2A. Now, I'd like to get Tphs in the most cost-effective way. Could you provide me with the strategy to do this using an ECAP?

Hi Sheldon,

This should be pretty simple to achieve. You will need to configure 2 ECAPs to capture EPWM1A and EPWM2A in absolute mode. You then need to synchronize the 2 ECAPs so both their counters start counting from the same number. You can use software sync force for this. You then subtract the timestamps to get the numbers you need. Let us know if this is not clear.

Hi Frank,

I came from this thread with a similar issue. I am trying to configure the eCAP modules with simulink in absolute mode, then I need to synchronize both eCAPs but I am afraid I am not very sure how to do it. Is there any example of these kind of configurations/synchronizations?
