Squirrel-cage induction motors` rotor have a symmetric structure, I am just wondering what does the rotor position mean? The rotor position is the angle between direct axis of the stator and rotor. But for this type of motors rotor ,with symmetric structure, direct axis makes no sense. Does any body have answer to my question?
