MSP430 assembly language definition for Notepad++?

I'm going to be using the Naken assembler, and would like to use Notepad++ as my editor. NPP has a number of language definitions, including one for a generic assembler, but not specifically for the MSP430 controllers. I just wondered if anyone had made up such a definition, or knew of one, so I don't have to reinvent the wheel.

I am not currently aware of any MSP430 launguage definitions for notepad++, but perhaps someone else in the community is. Are you commited to using Naken assembler or would you be willing to give the GCC a try?

I appreciate the suggestion, Ryan, but I think IDEs like CCS, IAR and GCC are just gross overkill for what I need to do, and more complicated than will be useful. So I think I'm going to stick with Naken and your Flasher. Since posting, I've found an editor called ConTEXT which has an MSP430 assembler addon, so I'm going to give that a try. That program is no longer being supported, and I'm sure isn't as powerful as Notepad++, but it may be good enough.

I understand where you're coming from and wish you luck with ConTEXT. I recommended GCC because it is standalone from CCS, supported by TI, open-sourced, and community-driven. But sometimes even it can be too much. Another thread similar to your interests:
