square root instruction

There are many possible ways to implement a square root function. It depends on what is needed in application to achieve the best compromise between numerical accuracy and CPU efficiency. Do you have any requirement? Are you using floating point or foxed point?

We are using floating point and 4 digit accuracy is fine for our appliation.

Call sqrtf() in CCS. You might need to include math.h.

Then, the compiler will call the R4F built-in float point sqrt instructions to do this. This is not a library function.

If you want to use assambly directly, call (1st double, 2nd float):

VSQRT<c>.F64 <Dd>, <Dm>

VSQRT<c>.F32 <Sd>, <Sm>
