Hi all,

Sorry if this question have been already answered but I'm a bit confused at the moment.

I'm working with the RM48L952 at the moment and I'm very happy with it for the kind of applications I'm working on.

It cold be possible that I would need to use FlexRay in few months time so I was wondering what is the "best" dev board based on Hercules microcontroller I can use to start to play with FlexRey?

Hi Giorgio,

There is a design for a FlexRay daughter board available on the wiki: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../TMS570LS31x_HDK_Kit
But, TI doesn't sell these boards you would need to manufacture your own boards.
Please note, that there is also a FlexRay demo SW available from that page.

Also considering to move to an other microcontroller. I was just reading that the TMS570 have a FLexRay controller in it. Are there dev board that make it easy to use it?

Alternatively you could use a LAUNCHXL2-570LC43 and wire a FexRay transceiver to header J10. But there are no dev kits with FlexRay transceivers available.

Thank you for letting me know, is it the same for the Hercules TMS570LC43x Development Kit? Do I still need a transceiver?

In this case , can you recommend one?

You will always need a FlexRay transceiver when using FlexRay, please review processors.wiki.ti.com/.../TMS570LS31x_HDK_Kit for a proposal how to connect a FlexRay transceiver to TMS570.

Sorry, an other question.

I can see that in the schematic pdf

For the experimental dev board with the 2 TJA1082 FlexRay transceiver, it is necessary to use also SPI and GIO to drive it.

Is there any sample source code specific for the use with TJA1082 ?

Giorgio,

I'm sorry, but TJA1082 is no TI product. Please contact the appropriate company regarding support for this component.

Edit: Please also have a look at the FlexRay add-on daughter card which might suit you needs better than the HDK Experimenter.
