MSP430FR5043: dTOF peaks for no reason

Hi, I have developed a clamp-on and I test this on a simple 25 mm PEX pipe filled with water. Its vertically and the water is in there for quite some time so there should be no bubbles in the water anymore. I can access the very same viewgraphs of the GUI demo and the signal looks quite well.

In the dToF view I see the expected noise around 30 ps but sometimes there is a short but sharp peak for few seconds (1..5) of about 16000 ps.

Any explanation for this?

Hi,

Try use a longer ADC capture window. And reserve some gap between the ADC capture start to the start of receive signal.

Hi,

This looks better. You can also try use less excitation pulses.

The DC offset on the ADC signal looks small. It should be okay. You can also enable the USS_APP_DC_OFFSET_CANCELLATION_ENABLE in the demo project to avoid the DC offset issue.
