Hello all,
I have an application that requires an MSP430F2618's firmware to be field upgradable via the microcontroller's SPI port (they are the only pins accessible). Looking over through the MSP430X2XX family user guide (slau144e.pdf), it is clearly stated on page 7-19 that the flash memory can be programmed via a custom solution. Unfortunately, I have not found any good application note describing the steps needed to implement a custom solution. Also, I have very little experience using bootstraps on microcontrollers.
Has anyone ever implemented a custom SPI based bootstrap for the MSP430x2xx? If so, could you please refer me to an example and/or application note that might help?
If no such information exists and someone is knowledgeable in bootstraps, could you please provide me with some information that might lead me to successfully implement a SPI based bootstrap?
