MSP430FR2433: Pull-up for RST Line

Part Number: MSP430FR2433
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Team, aside from MSP-FET compatibility, is there any issue for using 150k pull-up on the RST line instead of the recommended 47k? Would the capacitor to ground need to change if such a resistor value is used?  I am referring to R1 and C1 of page 19 of the HW UG.

  • While for flash 2xx family using 47k pull-up on RESET pin is a must (for running, not for SBW), FRAM devices have internal 35k pull-up on RESET and external one is not needed. If external is used than final resistance will be result of internal and external parallel combination.

There is note in device datasheet...

Pin RST/NMI --- Potential DVCC --- 47-kΩ pullup or internal pullup selected with 10-nF (or 1.1-nF) pulldown

The pulldown capacitor should not exceed 1.1 nF when using MCUs with Spy-Bi-Wire interface in Spy-Bi-Wire mode with TI tools like FET interfaces or GANG programmers.

  • Deep,

    Zrno soli is correct here.
