hi,

I need a MSP430F2013 microcontroller for a 16 bit A/D convertion of tempearutre readings. It's meant for patient health monitoring.

But I have not decided which sensor to use. So could anyone help me? The sensor should have high accuracy.

DS18S20 from MAXIM is a good option, needs only 1-pin to interface, has inbuilt ADC, comes in TO-92 package.

Hi,

TI has a broad portfolio of ADC too (16-, 18, 20-bit or more). Have a look at the data converter page here http://focus.ti.com/analog/docs/dataconvertershome.tsp?familyId=82&contentType=4&DCMP=TIHomeTracking&HQS=Other+OT+home_p_dc and then start selecting your ADC that fits best (interface, package size, sampling rate, ..).
