MSP430FR5994: MSP430FR5994 Launchpad bricked after Jtag Update

Hi, just received a MSP430FR5994 launchpad, tried to upload example code from CCSV8 (8.0.0.00016), CCSV8 said Jtag emulater (EZFET lite) needs firmware update, CCSV8 tried to update firmware and failed. Device was coming up OK in device manager before CCS tried to do the update. But now comes up as unrecognized device. LEDs do not turn on anymore either. CCS can no longer find the device. Basically the device has been bricked by the failed firmware update even though device was never unplugged and all procedures followed. Please provide details on how to unbrick the device. I have a MSP-FET430UIF i can use to flash the EZFET lite.

Hi Enver,

This is strange that the eZ-FET is totally bricked. Normally after a failed firmware update the bootloader in the eZ-FET is still available to do a recovery. Was CCS running natively on the host machine, or was it running in a virtual machine? I have sometimes seen issues with firmware updates when they are run from a virtual machine. I'll check to see what the method is for performing a recovery on the eZ-FET. I believe the FR5994 has the full eZ-FET and not just the eZ-FET lite.
