MSP430FR4133: Driving LCD's, does 8plex really work? And how is it set up schematically?

Part Number: MSP430FR4133

Hi All,

This project is moving along well, now have a complete set of software commands. Have access to all registers, can turn bits on and off, and drive everything concerning the LCD (on the launchpad).

Nezx issue, I need more segment drive. And it looks like 8plex is the only option.

LCD fluid mm2 is really small. This is a small display, only 4x6 inches. But it needs to have lots of digits on it. 25 seven segment digits plus two annotation segments (8plex), for a total 27 segment pins. Which is no problem even for the MSP430FR4133.

But, does 8plex really work? Are OpAmp drivers required to boost the drive?

I cannot find anything online concerning 8plex. Need some help here. Thanks in advance,

Robert.
