I have a USB2ANY box and through some digging I found the GUI for it.

USB2ANY_GUI It seems quite comprehensive and looks like this would be a very usefull tool. However I cannot find much other documentation for the USB2ANY (HPA665) HW or the GUI.

Ultimately I would like to be able to do USB to 3v3 UART. Is it possible with this?

I am not familiar with this "USB2ANY", can you send some pictures? Do you have a link where I can find information about this?

Is it the "USB Interface Adapter" what you are talking about? (http://www.ti.com/tool/USB-TO-GPIO)

This is different than the USB-TO-GPIO.

I searched on TI.com and found that this comes with a few eval boards (TPS62590) but that is all. The GUI is very extensive and looks like there is support for a lot of uses but as I mentioned there is no User Guide for the box itself.

Looks like this could be a powerful tool to use for various generic troubleshooting and interfacing.

I don't have information about that device.

It seems it is a USB to I2C though.

I did see that post. There is some info on I2C and SPI, but the GUI shows support for a ton of different interfaces so I was just wondering if this was an internal tool or if there is some public info.

This is not a desperate need, just wondering for future developments.

It's a TI board by the look of things

and it has this label on the secondary side.

The board schematic can be found in SBAU199.PDF

Now a few questions:

The accompaning PC software (SLVC495.ZIP) is a couple of years old.
Is there a newer version than 1.14.0.3 available? Is the source available?

Is the source code for the on-board MSP430 MCU available?

Someone at TI must know about this, please ask around...

The PC software is from

www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware

I checked there is no update.

also, this USB2ANY GUI can be used for the SPI port, but it fails to control the I2C port on USB2ANY, J4.

Hope someone can share a newer version GUI to control I2C port. I have tried the IPG-UI, it works fine for I2C, but no SPI or ADC, DAC etc.
