i'm doing new project and i need rs-485 (modbus) communication.

can it be achieved with MSP430G2553 ??

Yes, possible. Msp430g2553 have USCI peripheral with UART support. rs-485 is nothing more than half-duplex UART communication over differential bus. Modbus protocol shall be implemented in the software.
