Hi TI Experts.

Would you please provide the driver of MSP-CAPT-FR2633 for Windows 7 PC(32bit)?

When we inserted this board to my pc via USB, my PC could not recognize and show it as "unknown device".

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Best regards.
Kaka

This device is equipped with the MSP430 FET, I would recommend downloading an IDE or other tool.

  • Hi Chirs,

    Thank you for your response.
I have already installed the IDEs(CCS and IAR). But we could not evaluation this board.

    Best regards.

  • Thanks Kaka,
Are you able to connect to other MSP430 tools? Launchpad, MSP430-FET, etc?
Are you connecting directly to the PC or through a HUB?

    Chris
  • Hi Chirs,

    Thank you for your feedback.
    > Are you able to connect to other MSP430 tools? Launchpad, MSP430-FET, etc?
Yes. I could connect the MSP-FET and most of LaunchPads except for F5529LP.
F5529LP is also used the TUSB2046B. So, my PC also could not recognize this board.

    > Are you connecting directly to the PC or through a HUB?
I connected this board to PC directly. I did not used the hub.

    Best regards,
    Kaka
  • Thanks again Kaka. Sorry for another question, but I am trying to include some other persons as this seems to be common to the F5529LP also. Can you see any device in the device manager when the 5529LP or the CapTIvate tool is plugged in? IE do you see either the debugger or the application UART or are both missing.

    Regards,
    Chris
  • Hi Chirs,

I captured the device manager as below. Please see as follow. I could not see either the debugger and application UART. PC showed this board as "Unknown device".

The fact is that I also asked this question to other post.

But I could not get any update on this thread.

If you have any more question, please let me know.

    Best regards.

  • Kaka,
Can you identify which driver you are using? Maybe simply identifying the revision of CCS will be sufficient. I was reviewing the tiwiki (processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php and it talks about FETs which are updated but the driver is older and degrading the FET to work with your driver. I am wondering is this is a possible explanation.

    Chris
  • Hi Chirs,

    Thank your for your response.

How should I identify it? The CCS version is 6.1.1.00022. It seems that I have used the latest one.
Can I degrade the FET driver even thought my PC could not recognize the EVM?
I apologize for not understanding your meaning.

    Best regards.
    Kaka

  • Kaka,
Sorry for not being more clear. However, since you do have the latest version of CCS, then you would have the latest drivers and my guess at a possible explanation was incorrect.
I failed to ask previously when looking for the application uart and debugger (CDC class), was the HID seen? This is the bridge for the captivate design center.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Chris

I wonder why you ask about USB HUB.

Are there concerns in using USB HUB with a 32-bit Win-7? If so, the first part of Kaka's response raised a big red flag. Are there concern in using TUSB2046B with a 32-bit Win-7?

  • OCY,
Sorry for the lack of clarity, I should have also asked if the HUB was powered and other devices were on the hub. The intent was just to better understand the setup. I am not aware of any issue or concerns around USB hubs nor the TUSB2046B. To be sure I will keep looking at this and hopefully will be able to bring to some closure.

  • Hi Chirs,

    Thank you for your help.
I apologize for my late feedback. I answered your question as below.
    > I failed to ask previously when looking for the application uart and debugger (CDC class), was the HID seen?
I could not see the any classes likes CDC, HID on USB function.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Chris
  • Hi Chirs,
I have a update for this topic.
My PC could recognize this boards (including MSP-EXP5539LP) by re-installing the USB3.0 driver for PC.
Thank you for your kindly supports.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
    Best regards.
    Kaka
