Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
So I bought the MSP430G2 launchpad and a couple of MSPs couple of months ago. Once I got it everything I tried it out the launchpad, using energia V18 and I couldn't get it to work no matter what i did. So I ended up using V17 which worked but was very laggy and crashed every so often but it worked! After a few hours of testing stuff and experimenting it just stopped working, it wouldn't upload the code. And it was in the middle of testing stuff so I assumed I had wired a cable wrong and fried the thing or something like that and that the launchpad was broken. At that point I tried using CC (which I had gotten a bit scared of using cause the complicity) with no luck what so ever. Always the same error "Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port (error = 57)". I have tried different USB-ports, cables, restarting the pc, reinstalling the drivers, etc... I ended up installing energia V17 on my laptop and it worked surprisingly so I had to try installing V18 but ofcourse it wouldn't work. I'm out of ideas! I don't want to code my msps from my laptop on an outdated shitty version of energia.
