MSP430FR2433: Minimum Supply Voltage 1.80V or 1.99V?

Hi,

I have a question regarding the minimum supply voltage for MSP430FR2433:

- The datasheet on page 20 states VSVSH+ should be between 1.74V..1.99V; if I understand this correctly then to be on the safe side I need 1.99V minimum supply voltage.

- On the other side the Recommended Operating Conditions in the datasheet are (page 15):

So is there any chance to run MSP430FR2433 device with a supply voltage of 1.80V?

To ensure that the device starts up, the power supply must be at least 1.99 V. But later, the voltage can be reduced to 1.8 V (if your power supply supports this).

Thank you. So just to be sure there is no way at all to deactivate SVS or reduce the SVS voltage levels and/or reduce the clock cycle to be able to start at 1.80V?

I only have a stable 1.8V supply voltage.

Hey Robert,

Unfortunately there is no way to guarantee startup of the device if you provide 1.8V. You will want to use the SVS parameters for power-up and power-down levels.

In order to guarantee start-up, you will need to provide a voltage greater than 1.99V. In order to guarantee that the device stays on after start-up, you will need to provide a voltage greater than 1.86V.

Changing the SVS or clock configuration is possible only from software, i.e., after your code has already started executing.
