update firmware is to use BSL , we try many day but still can't work , please help me , thanks!

  • Hi Stanley,

What's your board power supplier? I see your power supply configuration is "Supplied by Programmer", so you need connect VCC of device to pin2 of MSP-GANG.

  • Hi Winter

thanks for your reply , our product is a temperature controller , it has switching power system(ac 220v) so i don't connect VCC pin to my product

i offer my connect diagram and whole BSL system.

  • Hi Stanley,

If you use external power supply, then you need connect the VCC of the board to pin4 of MSP-GANG. And set "Target's Power Supply" as below picture. The Voltage should be your actual VCC voltage value.

  • Hi Winter

thanks for your help , i change another msp-gang and follow your method but still can't work!!

do i need any password file?

  • above picture text is red(4) : VCC , sorry!
  • Hi Stanley,

Password file is needed. The password for the BSL is the bytes between addresses 0xFFF0 and 0xFFFF of code resided in device.

Password file is TI-TXT type file as below:

  • Hi Stanley,

Do you have MSP-FET430UIF? You can use it and BSL_Scripter.exe to test if device is normal. Please download BSL_Scripter.exe at below link.

  • Hi Winter

i knew this mention , but still no work , it seem to password no match , i offer my password format

    please help me to check

  • Hi,

The password file is correct. And this type of error is mostly because the incorrect or unstable wire connection.
I check your pin connection is matched. So please check if the wire connection is stable. Please capture the signal of TEST, RST, TXD and RXD using Oscilloscope or Logic Analyzer.

    Merry Christmas (*^_^*)!

  • Hi Winter

i asked TI local distributor "Arrow Electronics" to help us resolve this problem and this problem is solved!

the key is in password byte quantity , in past i use 16 bytes password(0xFFF0~FFFF) but it should be 32 bytes(0xFFE0~FFFF),

anyway thanks for TI and Arrowr's help
