Please take a closer look at the uploaded image, and tell me TMP107 sensor is attached.

I don't know but TI has q low quality assurance progam.

  • Hi Kwang,

Ouch.  I see the problem here.  This is not acceptable. We work closely with our manufacturers that build our launchpads and demo boards for us and occasionally we have switched vendors for reasons such as these.  I see you still have the box?  Do me a favor and take a picture of the label on the side of the box that all the information printed on it.

I'll run that by the appropriate people to check the manufacturer and see how that slipped through.

[Based on the fact this board is missing a critical component,  I say this board is defective.]

To get this replaced, same drill as before. Contact the customer chat and provide them a link to this E2E posting.  Let me know if you have trouble with this embedded link.

  • I thought I posted 3 images, showing what seemingly a label.

For your reference, I post here again that shows the label on the PCB.

I was just about to apply conformity coating on the PCB, that is why you see left side connector taped to be sealed against chemical penetration  .

  • Hi Kwang,

Ok, you are going to love this one.

I'm being told that the TMP007 is not supposed to be populated.  We stopped doing that for some time now because this boosterpack is going obsolete and our analog team wants to promote a newer temp sensor, so they created a new sensor boosterpack.

    New sensor boosterpack available:  http://www.ti.com/tool/BP-BASSENSORSMKII

Regarding your return, I'll leave that up to you.  You can converse with the customer support team on their chat for guidance on that matter.

I really super apologize for the back and forth this has caused you.

Please feel free to let me know if you need any additional help with this matter.

  • I'm familiar with TMP117 sensor, and I don't see why I'd need an ultra accurate temperature sensor.

In fact, I don't want to use this particular part due to packaging restriction; I don't readily have an access wave solder machine required for this particular part to be mounted for my own development work.

I want the refund or replace with item that I want, and you need to call your CS agent to get my refunded.

Instead of refunding, you can send boost pack I want, that is BOOSTXL-EDUMKII (https://www.ti.com/tool/BOOSTXL-EDUMKII?keyMatch=BOOSTER%20PACKS&tisearch=Search-EN-everything) and charge additional money to my credit card you have it on file

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance in this matter.

  • Hi Kwang,

Let me see what I can do :)

  • I've asked for Educational BoosterPack MKII, and stated I'll pay for difference in your price.

Yet, I've received an e-mail from TI's customer service instructing me to return defective board for refund without a shipping return tag.

I've received two defective boards that I extremely displeased with TI, and now I'm going to spend more time/money to send it back to you out of my pocket.  This is how TI treats its customers?

  • Hi Kwang,

I sent you a friendship request.  Please accept and read what I am offering to do for you.

  • I don't use FB, and intend to use it ever.

I like your offering of sending me a replacement part, but NOT a cost of joining group of retards and mentally sick people of our society.

  • Hi Kwang,

I think you misunderstood.  I sent you a friendship request through this E2E forum so you and I can have private conversation and share details on getting you a replacement.

I did not mean FB.  I am not a user.

    Still interested?
