Dear All,

I tried to set up 7 HID interfaces on an MSP430f5510 with the descriptor tool, but i failed. At least Windows 7 could only enumerate my device with a maximum of 5 HID interfaces. With more than 5 interfaces Windows 7 is unable to install the composite device driver, i get CM_PROB_FAILED_START in setupapi.dev.log. The device remains in the ST_ENUM_IN_PROGRESS state. Have you had any similar experiences ? What could be te problem ?

UPDATE: On Win XP, Vista, MAC my device triggers the "Unknown device" effect with 5 HID interfaces... Any help is apperciated !

Now I think it must be some kind of USB timing issue during the enumeration of the device. With the slightly modified version of HH1_Example I was able to open 6 HID interfaces. However it doesn't seem to be a robust configuration as it only enumerates in stand-alone mode without the debugger.. While debugging I always get "error 10" on Win 7.

Just in case anyone is interested: this was an "USB controller bandwidth" problem on the PC side.

Hi Kristol,

I might be facing the same kind of problem trying to achieve 2HID devices in compoiste mode but only getting the first one enumareted and working correctly. Could you share more on your last post about "USB controller bandwidth"?
