MSP-GANG: No LED illuminated after programming

When programming via the MSP-GANG programmer, the Mode LED flashes yellow Mode during the process, but no LED illuminates when it finishes. The LCD displays "41 Finished 2.8s" but no OK or Error LED is illuminated. Am I missing a step/setting somewhere? Thanks!

I forgot to mention all 3 LEDs on the programmer light up when it first powers up, so the LEDs all appear to be good. The adapter FW is 01.02.08.00.

Are you using the GUI or the "GO" Button?

We plan to use the Go button in production, but I've tried both in the lab and neither illuminate the OK LED after programming. The GUI indicates a "Pass" with step 40: Done then 0: Finished.

If you are using the Stand Alone mode, can you try connecting to the GUI and see if it shows any errors?

Which MSP are you using and what is the version of your GANG FW and your GUI?

We're programming the MSP430 with the MSP-GANG programmer. The GANG FW shows A430: 01.02.08.00. The GUI software revision shows G430: 01.02.08.00. The DLL is D430: 01.02.08.00. I don't see any errors when programming via the GUI, and it indicates a "Pass" when it completes. I've tried the standalone option via the GUI as well as truly standalone with just the DC adapter powering the programmer.

I am seeing the same problem. It appears that the latest version of firmware on the MSP-GANG no longer sets the status LEDs.

I was running 1.02.08.00 so I took one step back to 1.02.07.00 and the status LEDs still didn't work. But I went back to 1.02.06.00 and the OK LED illuminates after a successful FW load. Does noting the issue in this forum constitute a bug report or should I submit something else? Thanks!

Versions 1.02.08.00 and 1.02.07.00 have a bug that doesn't light the status LED's after programming completion.

These versions set the LCD screen properly but not the LEDs.

The last working version where the status LEDs work is version 1.02.06.00.

Excerpt from User Guide

After the desired image has been selected, press the GO button on the MSP Gang Programmer hardware
to start programming. This button operates the same way as the GO button on the GUI. Progress of the
operation in Standalone mode is indicated by a flashing yellow LED and displayed on the LCD display.
The result status is represented by green and red LEDs on the MSP Gang Programmer and details are
displayed on the LCD display. If a green LED is ON only, then all targets have been programmed
successfully. If only the red LED is displaying, that all results failed. If red and green LEDs are on, then
result details should be checked on top of the LCD display. The LCD display shows target numbers 1 to 8
and marks to indicate failure or success: X for failure and V for success. When an error is reported, the
bottom line repeatedly displays an error number followed by a short description with time intervals of
approximately two seconds.

When is the fix going to be released? We were running 1.02.08.00 when we reported the bug, and that's the version showing as the latest on the TI website. Thanks!
