How to install the crystal oscillator for the MPS430PZ100A

I want to make sure I install the crystal correctly and that I do not need any other external components in order to have the part run. Can you please send me instructions on how to appropriately solder in the part? Do I need to solder down the housing somewhere?

Robert,

To install the crystal simply solder the two pins on Q1. You should not need any other external components for it to run correctly.You do not need to solder the housing.

The document cited here recommends that you should ground the case:

That is talking specifically about low-power operation - it's not clear if that's a general recommendation...
