TM4C1294NCPDT: XDS110 Firmware - How to program blank AWR1642BOOST board

Part Number: TM4C1294NCPDT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, , UNIFLASH, AWR1642BOOST

Hi All,

I have new boards, a design I based on the AWR1642 and TM4C1294NCPDT..  On these new boards when I connect to the PC it is seen as a "Stellaris Device Firmware Upgrade" in device manager.

I need to program this TM4C1294NCPDT with the XDS110 firmware that is used on the AWR1642BOOST eval board - can you tell me where to get the binary image, and should I use Uniflash or LM Flash Programmer?  WHich is easiest?

Thank you in advance,

  • Never Mind,

I downloaded the emulation firmware package for the mmWave boards, and used LM Flash to program the bootloader, then the command-line interface to program the firmware and it works now.

  • Thanks for the update and glad to hear you found a solution.

  • Hello John,

While glad you got a solution for the moment I want to comment on something:

I need to program this TM4C1294NCPDT with the XDS110 firmware that is used on the AWR1642BOOST eval board

That firmware isn't available beyond roundabout means like what you used. The TM4C ICDI interface is just used for TI EVMs to avoid the need for debug probes to evaluate devices.  No customers should be trying to replicate that setup for production. Rather, a proper debugger like XDS110 should be used for production.

Just wanted to let you know up front so you don't go too far down that path before finding out it is unviable.
