What i will select JTAG(xds100v2 version) for "Tiva TM4C1233H6PM"?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C1233H6PM

I made custom board using "Tiva TM4C1233H6PM"

and i will buy JTAG(version of the XDS100v2)......

I saw three models on TI web site, as follows......

1) TMDSEMU100v2U-20T: XDS100v2 JTAG Emulator(20-pin compact TI connector)

2) TMDSEMU100v2U-ARM: XDS100v2 JTAG Emulator(10-pin compact ARM connector)

3) TMDSEMU100v2U-14T: XDS100v2 JTAG Emulator(14-pin compact TI connector)

What i will select model(1 or 2 or 3)?

  • Hello Joong-kil park,

Can you share the schematic for the JTAG Header on the custom board? That way we can tell which one to use.

    Regards

    Amit

  • JTAG Header of custom board using "Tiva TM4C1233H6PM" is......

  • Hello Joong-kil Park,

None of the debuggers would work

    1. The minimum pin configuration is 10-pin while the header you have is 8-pin.

    2. The headers on all the debuggers are in 2 row orientation, while the connector is a single row.

You would have to wire the debugger to the header.

    Regards

    Amit

  • I know that....

I had already TMDSEMU100v2U-14T: XDS100v2 JTAG Emulator(14-pin compact TI connector)

So I made adaptor like that....

But this is not connected CCS 5.5.x and shown error message like that......

"CS_DAP_0: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1265 @ 0x0) Device ID is not recognized or is not supported by driver. Confirm device and emulator configuration is correct, or update device driver. (Emulation package 0.0.0.0) "

    so i will buy another XDS100v2 JTAG(TMDSEMU100v2U-ARM)

but i am not sure that XDS100v2 JTAG(TMDSEMU100v2U-ARM) will be normal operation......

  • Hello Joong-Kil Park,

It seems that the 14-pin is no longer supported (as it is not recommended)

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/XDS_Target_Connection_Guide#XDS100.2FXDS510.2FXDS560_14-pin_Header_Special_Considerations

XDS100V2 ARM header would be OK (I have used one to debug TM4C123 devices).

    Regards

    Amit
