Doubt regarding python programming

can we use python programming in cortex m4?

  • Your Subject/Title: "Doubt regarding python programming."

What is your basis for such, "doubt?"

"Doubt" is chronically misused here - proper wordage, "May Python be used (efficiently) to program Cortex M4?"

Not a Python user - might there exist a, "Python to C++" converter?  Such may provide an indirect path to your objective...

  • Hi,

If you are interested in script programming, lua script was ported to Tiva. You may search with Google, and if not found i will provide you a link.

  • Hello Surendra,

The native compilers do not support python. What you would need as cb1 suggested is a C compiler or as Petrei suggested use a scripting mechanism

  • Python is basically a interpreted language. Not sure if much python interpreters for Cortex M4 exist. If you find one suitable (or port one), running python code on a TIVA MCU shouldn't be a problem.

There, for instance, is one implementation for a competitor's MCU (also a Cortex M4) : http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/09/26/micro-python-arm-cortex-m4-board-is-now-available-for-45/

    However, not for free ...

    Basically correct.

But knowing python from PC environment, I was just curious if there is any such thing for the M4. And judging by the name "micro python", it seems stripped down to "almost unusable", except for playing around.

Reminds me on the Java experiments the same vendor made for it's Cortex M devices. The almost deserted subpage on the vendor's forum speaks volumes about it's success...

If my small firm could afford you - we'd steal you away to write, "copy like the above!"  Simply superb!

Long ago Profs & Qualified Bosses directed that we always, "Properly choose - then mate - Tool to Task."  The (relative) obscurity of poster's programming vehicle insures his launch to "high seas" - dark clouds brewing - life vests unknown...
