Flashing Tiva from Linux

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

I am trying to flash the tiva microcontrollers over the usb port from Linux and I see here that it is not currently supported. How can I flash the boards from linux over the usb port if LM and uniflash do not yet support it?

Thanks!

Jonathan

  • Might a more meaningful question be, "Is it wise to attempt something - so away from the mainstream - and not currently supported?"

Should you have any buying "volume" - your local FAE may be best motivated/equipped to, "dig deep" - assist such exploration.

You may note (often) "pioneers" are those whose crumpled bodies - filled with arrows - littering the (yet) unpaved landscape...

  • I agree with you there! Unfortunately the chips are part of a larger computation board running linux and this is the only way to do in-field updates. We could potentially write a bootloader that allows us to flash the Tiva chips manually but that sounds more daunting than I'd like.
  • Feel your pain - mon ami - feel your pain.

Your topic & similar have landed here very recently - horses mouth (vendor) offers no input as to, "If and/or when."

My sense - you're "in the noise" w/such demand - vital to you (of course) yet way down vendor's  "To do" list...   (right after "fixing" PF0/PD7...maybe)

Might more fertile ground exist w/in Linux-centric space?   (you may wish to (first) enrich - then bring your check-book...)
