TM4C transformerless Ethernet interface

Does TI have a recommended “transformerless” interface for the TI TM4C series? Or is an isolation transformer required?

It appears the Stellaris required a transformer so I assume the Tiva is subject to the same limitation, but I don't see this called out anywhere.

Hi John,
That would be a first since a XFRMR provides transceiver isolation and excellent line balance. There are two recommend transformers specified, EK-TM4C1294NCPDT-XL launch pad schematic.

Hello John,

As BP101 has eluded to, the external magnetics are required for connecting to an ethernet network and the circuits used on the launchpads have been tested and proven in use.
