DRV8256: Overcurrent Protection and recover mode

Hi MD teams

As DRV8874 have out of stock I am helping customer to replace it with DRV8256. (QFN package)

Few questions need to be figure it out:

I want to double confirm that DRV8256 will be latched rather than keep trying to recover like DRV8874?
After DRV8256 latched for OCP event, giving a short reset pulse (longer than 20us shorter than 40us) is that right?
As we changing from HTTSOP to QFN package, will thermal performance much worse with same PCB layout? I checked the datasheet the thermal parameter is in the same level for DRV8874(HTSSOP) AND DRV8256(QFN). But I didn't test in prototype yet.

Yes, the DRV8256 will latched to a fault state when OCP is triggered.

Correct. The t_reset is at minimum 20us.

QFN package has slightly higher thermal parameters compared to the HTTSOP package. So you will see slightly higher temperatures for same PCB layout. However, having good PCB layout will help increase the thermal performance. You can see the two links below to learn about good PCB guidelines for motor driver circuits:
