Heatsink for DRV8432

Hello everyone,

I'm currently working on designing a stepper motor driver circuit using the DRV8432 and I'm looking into cooling the chip now and I have no idea where to look for heatsinks that will work for this device.

I'm still in school so I haven't had to deal with this before. Any recommendations?

Unfortunately, we don't have an orderable number for the heatsinks that we use on our EVMs. We buy the material in bulk from AAVID and use a local machine shop to cut it to length.

If you only need 1 or 2, I have some laying on my desk that I could ship to you.

If you need more than that or need to think more long term, you can speak with AAVID directly on your needs and you could order something like below from FUTURE. If you order the below heatsink, make sure to scrape the anodized coating off the heatsink at the place where it contacts the thermal pad on the DRV8432. You want to make sure there is an electrical connection at the pad to board GND.

Ryan,

Actually, I need exactly two. Also, do you happen to know when samples will be available again for the 8432?
