DRV8871: MOS anti reverse connection

I got a question from customer.

For DRV8871 and 8872, bus VM has no MOS anti reverse connection in reference design. Isn't it necessary? Or can the chip judge?

Hi Zhonghui,

If you are referring to VM reverse battery protection, the DRV8871 does not have this included. Is it up to the designer to include it according to the applications needs. You can read this app-note to learn about various reverse battery protections techniques.
