DRV8701: downward movement

Part Number: DRV8701

Hi Team,

After the motor drive DRV8701P sleeps, the motor cannot be braked and locked, causing the motor to have a downward movement trend.

Thanks,

Annie

  • The product should be low power consumption. nsleep is set to low. DRV8701P sleeps, but the motor can not lock.

    Thanks,

    Annie

  • Hi Annie,

If the motor is spinning when the sleep command is given to the driver, the H-bridge will be disabled and the motor will continue to spins until is stops due to its mechanical friction.

If you need the motor to lock, the INx signals should be high which will place the H-bridge in low-side braking mode. However, the device will not be able to be placed in low-power mode.
