Hello E2E,
When setted the DV8316 to current limit mode, is there how to measure motor current with CPU?
In other words,,
When setted the DV8316 to current limit mode, does CPU able to measure the motor current by SOx ports??
Best regards,
ACGUY

Hello ACGUY,
You can use ADCs on the MCU if you want to measure the SOx voltages, however, it is not recommended to use the SOx outputs when in 6x or 3x PWM with current limit mode. In Current Limit mode, the ILIM voltage is compared with VMEAS, but in design it may appear that ILIM is still being sourced as VREF to the low-side current sense outputs. Looking at the waveforms that Aaron sent to you in this post, the outputs of SOx change when the current through the FETs changes while in ILIM mode, but we cannot guarantee how it will operate and we have not clearly defined the relationship between the reference voltage and the current.
We will work with design and test on the bench to verify operation of the SOx outputs when in current limit mode.
Best,
Johnny
