When the DRV8428 is in fast decay mode, the datasheet mentions that the opposite MOSFET's are turned on. I understand from this that the decay current does not circulate through the MOSFET body diodes like in many of other motor drivers. As a result the current could potentially become negative, although the datasheet mentions a mechanism to prevent that. My customer however is witnessing negative currents during decay when driving low inductance motors at low current (few mA). Is there a way to explain this phenomenon?
Thank you!
