UC2625: About a failure mode

Hello,

Can UC2625 operate in reverse due to component failure? In other words, when I give VCC to the DIR input, can the device function as if GND is given from DIR input (motor turns in the opposite direction); and vice versa?

I am curious if such a failure mode for UC2625 is applicable (theoretically)?

Hi Burak,

The internal schmitt trigger is used to detect a high or a low and will spin the motor in the corresponding direction. So the answer to your question is no.

One more thing,

I would also like to note that the DIR pin has an ABS max rating of 8V, meaning you can't apply the full VCC votlage of 20V on here. Please use a current limiting resistor as shown in the datasheet.
