DRV8841: Motor driver chip problem

Part Number: DRV8841

Hi Team,

Pin15 of this chip is V3P3OUT output 3.3V/1ma, customer would like to know could it be used for pin12.13REF reference pin and pull-up resistor connected to reset pin at the same time? REF shows that the current consumption is 6ua, but the reset is not clear. is it mainly controlled by the external current-limiting resistor? What is the appropriate pull-up resistor? Relying on PIN15 for power supply will cause voltage instability or cause pin15 to be lower than 3.3V.

Thanks,

Annie

  • Hi Annie,

customer would like to know could it be used for pin12.13REF reference pin and pull-up resistor connected to reset pin at the same time?

Yes it is possible. As long as the current draw on V3P3OUT is lower than 1mA it should be fine.

What is the appropriate pull-up resistor?

    10kΩ is a good value.

Relying on PIN15 for power supply will cause voltage instability or cause pin15 to be lower than 3.3V.

There should not be any instability issues as long as the V3P3OUT current remains below 1mA.
