DRV8343-Q1: IDRIVEN of SPI version

Hello Matt-san,

My understanding is as follows.
- Set IDRIVEP_Lx=IDRIVEP_Hx=”1111b”
- At above setting, IDRIVEP is set to 1A, IDRIVEN is set to 2A.
- There is no SPI register to set IDRIVEN directly.
- A below comments on datasheet is typo? IDRIVEP and IDRIVEN are not able to independently adjustable on SPI device. Because IDRIVEN is fixed value by IDRIVEN=2xIDRIVEP.
"The IDRIVEP and IDRIVEN current for both the low-side and high-side MOSFETs are independently adjustable on SPI devices through the SPI registers." (datasheet p71: 9.2.1.2.2 IDRIVE Configuration)

Yes, that is a typo in the datasheet which was accidentally copied from other datasheets. We will add this to the list of edits in queue.

Thank you for your clarification. I informed your answer to customer and get following request.

Customer requests to modify the datasheet. Because customer mentioned that it is difficult to consider the device and customer is not able to choose TI device at worst case scenario, if there are a typo in datasheet.  Would you please consider this request?

The datasheet change process takes quite a long time, even to make simple edits.

If we commit to a complete date of end 3Q21, would that be acceptable to the customer?
