Hi, TI Support Team

Due to the delivery problem of DRV8836DSSR at the customer

We are reviewing the DRV8428PRTER product.

Can it be replaced in terms of functionality (drive)?

Specifically, is it possible to operate the same for the following contents?

[DRV8836]

[DRV8428P]

    Hi MJ,

    The main difference in the drive logic is that you cannot get coast function in the DRV8428P (labeled "H-bridge disabled Hi-Z") without setting the device to sleep (nSLEEP=0). However, you can get Brake; low-side slow decay with the DRV8428P which is similar to the coast function in the DRV8836. So the control logic is the same for both drivers except for Coast mode. If you plan to use the Brake function, then from a drive logic standpoint, the DRV8428P can replace the DRV8836.
