DRV2667EVM-CT: Can DRV2667 be controlled by USB2ANY connection directly?

Part Number: DRV2667EVM-CT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, DRV2667, DRV2605

One of my customers is evaluating DRV2667 using DRV2667 EVM with USB2ANY and Haptic Control Console GUI.

Haptic Control Console GUI : https://www.tij.co.jp/jp/lit/ug/slou502a/slou502a.pdf

They have been able to evaluate the device without any problems.

As the next step, they want to control DRV2667 on their own board with USB2ANY connection directly.

In this case, can DRV2667 be controlled without any problem?

Also they want to control DRV2605 in the same situation above.

Can DRV2605 be controlled without any problem?

Could you please give me your reply?

Best regards,

Kazuya.

  • Hello Kazuya,

I believe USB2ANY is only meant for usage with EVMs and am not sure about it being able to communicate with a chip directly. This would more be a question to submit under a USB2ANY forum to see if it can communicate via I2C without having the EVM interface. Based on how the EVMs need to be set to GUI mode before interfacing I dont think it is that easy.

All that is needed to talk to chip is I2C and ground connection so if that can be provided then youll be able to interface with chip.

    Best Regards,

    Carson
