DRV8714-Q1: VCP to drive back to back NMOS to achieve soft-start and reverse protection

Part Number: DRV8714-Q1

Hi Team,

in datasheet figure9-1, it use VCP to achieve reverse protection.

My customer want to use VCP to drive two back to back NMOS to achieve reverse current protection. I think it should be OK, but can it also achieve soft-start? Thanks.

"can it also achieve soft-start? " Do you mean a RC network on back to back NMOS FET's gate to control the inrush current?

BTW, the PVDD is after the protection circuit. VCP startup timing is after the the input protection circuit is on. So, I don't think we can use VCP to control the input FET soft-start.
