DRV110: DRV110 with fixed duty cycle

Hi,

1) I want to know how to configure DRV110 with fixed duty cycle mode?

2) How to make approx. 50% duty cycle?

I tried to do minor changes in order to make fixed PWM duty cycle.

IC’s SENSE pin removed from RSENSE and external fixed resistor divider is used. 100K and 1K voltage divider with power supply input of 24V.

Any comment on this scheme?

Hi,

Here is our feedback.

1) DRV110 is not designed for fixed duty cycle operation, but designed for feedback loop with SENSE pin. DRV110 duty cycle never fixed. If you are looking for fixed duty cycle device, DRV110 is not good choice.

2) DRV110 duty cycle will be changing by cycle to cycle. It will be just same as Datasheet Fig3 what you posted.

3) This is not the way what DRV110 is designed. However I expect if apply fixed voltage on SENSE pin, Duty cycle would keep 100% or 0%.

Regarding 3rd item, 0% is correct? I'm getting different duty cycle with this case

Since this is not the way DRV110 is designed, 0% is my guess. If SENSE voltage exceed the threshold, I guess output keeps OFF(0%).

Regarding item #3, Duty cycle will be 7.5% or 100% ?

I measured duty cycle, It is approx. 7.5%
