DRV2667: DRV2667 driving with square wave for Piezo actuator

Part Number: DRV2667

Hi there,

I have been using the DRV2667 for the last year or so to drive piezo stacks from Thorlabs as micro-actuators. We have been using the chip to output 100Vpp to 200Vpp square waves to quickly and sharply increase the length of the piezos. Over this time, I have burned through quite a few chips. They will often work for weeks before they give out. I am wondering if the square wave actuation is causing the problem.

After the chips go bad, they seem to produce a fuzzy, buzzing sound instead of the familiar click from the square wave pulses.

Any help would be appreciated.
