DRV8823: Is it possible to control pulse motors using DRV8823?

I am afraid this is a rudimentary question.
Is it possible to control a pulse motor (stepping motor) using DRV8823?
Is there any way to control a pulse motor (stepping motor) using the DRV8823?
(I want to control two motors, two-phase bipolar.)
The PWM fixed frequency is 50kHz. Is it correct to recognize that the speed control is controlled by PWM?
I have the DRV8823EVM evaluation module.

Hello, Takeshi,

DRV8823 can drive two stepping motors. The host controller needs to send commands to let DRV8823 drive the motor.

PWM frequency is different than the motor step frequency. PWM means pulse width modulation: when the output current reaches the regulation point, DRV8823 turns off the high side FET to prevent the output current higher than the setting point. When PWM goes to next cycle, the high side FET is turned on again. The PWM frequency is 1/(the cycle time) and it is fixed 50kHz.

The motor step frequency is related to the xI2,xI1 and xI0 micro-stepping setting and their changing speed.

Thank you for your answer.
If I want the stepping motor to rotate slower, how do I send the command from the host controller?
Is it only the xl2, xl1, and xl0 settings that can determine the speed of the stepping motor?

Takeshi,

If you want the stepping motor to rotate slower, you can change the output current slowly: change xI2,xI1 and xI0 setting slowly. I didn't find other way to change the speed.

I would like to connect an Aruduino to a DRV8823 to rotate a stepper motor.
I would like to use SPI for communication. Please let me know if you have a program that might be helpful.

Thanks for the answer.
I was able to connect the Arduino to the DRV8823 and turn the stepping motor.
I also referred to page 21 of SPRUHP3.
