Hi team,

The customer had LRA application which would like to use attached TI DRV2605LDGSR or other TI similar product.

Is there any relevant AEC-Q qualified similar component of LRA driver?

Is there any reference schematic and BOM information for this LRA driver?

Could you help check this case? Thanks!

we do have an automotive qualified version of this part - DRV2605L-Q1. there is an associated reference design and BOM https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00314

And the customer also would like to know if it's possible to provide mean/avg driving current of DRV2605 to drive a normal LRA part.

Hi Cherry,

It is difficult to provide such a spec due to variation in impedance and rated voltage of any one acctuator. this could however be estimated for any particular LRA. you can estimate the power based on the RMS rated voltage of the LRA and that LRAs impedance.

for example 3V RMS into an 16 Ohm LRA: 3^2/16 = 0.5625 W

On the other hand, could you kindly help to check if the following hardware application schematic is OK for DRV2605LTDGSRQ1 to driver LRA?

I2C will be connected to host MCU. VCC1 is 3.3V DC.

Hi Cherry,

the schematic of the LRA driver you attached is good. I would ask the customer to ensure the REG, and VDD capacitors are placed close to the device pin.

the additional 10 uf on VDD is not necessary, however it will not affect performance.
