DRV2700: PZT drive circuit

Part Number: DRV2700

Hi Team,

The customer chooses DRV2700 as the driver of PZT. The drive function can be realized, but it will bring interference, affect other indicators, and cannot meet the design requirements. He wants to use a general amplifier and a power amplifier to drive the PZT now. The MCU inputs the control signal (0~2.5V) to the general amplifier through the DAC to amplify the signal, and then input to the power amplifier. The power amplifier should output a voltage of 0~100V to drive PZT (PZT is a capacitive load). He would like to know how to achieve this?

Thanks,

Annie

  • Hi Annie,

I assume that the interference is coming from the switching frequency of the boost converter, has the customer characterized the frequency of this interference? In any case the customer will need to have 100V on their board in order to drive the piezo.

Can the customer share more information on the interference they are experiencing? is it affecting the performance of the system or violating EMI requirements?

    Regards,

    Arthur
